{Wedding Trends} : Mini Cakes

Forget about the five layer cakes. Smaller sweets are making a big statement on today’s dessert tables. We have talk about how cupcakes and cake-pops have been taking over the wedding dessert scene. But, the my newest obsession is their close cousin, the mini-cake. (mini-cake by Reachelle's Beautyful Bespoke Cakes)
These little confections are just as easy to eat as cupcakes but so much more sophisticated and elegant. Wether they're used as wedding favors, at a dessert table or as an alternative or complement of the regular wedding cake, mini-wedding cupcakes are simply divine. Here are a few fab ideas of mini-cake designs and some creative ways to incorporate this petite sweet into your wedding. Enjoy! Aren't all beautiful? Now, let's get to the tips on how to use them creatively on the big day:
  1. Use them as wedding favors and sent your guest home with a sweet treat from your nuptials
  2. Decorate your dessert bar with some no-so-small cakes. Besides the fact that they would look super-cute and would add dimension to your sweets bar, they can also give you the opportunity to present your guest with more than one cake flavor.
  3. Double the purpose of your wedding mini cakes and place one or two of them on each of your guest table along with the centerpieces. They would bring more texture to your decor and give you another way to showcase your wedding theme and/or colors.
  4. You may also want to consider welcoming your guest with a mini-cake in each place setting. For more ideas on how welcoming your wedding guest click here.

{Wedding Trends} : Hand-Painted Cakes

I love how intricate, unique and artsy wedding cakes are getting! Gone are the days of the plain cake (woo hoo!). 2012 brought in new wedding trends, including the rise of hand-painted cakes. These sweet confections are true works of art and almost look too good to eat…almost!  As the reception centerpiece, hand-painted cakes are a great way to reflect your theme, the season (spring, fall, etc) or even be made to resemble your invitations and stationary.
