I’ve fallen head over heels for this California ranch wedding by Ian Grant Photography and have been rendered a little bit speechless in the process, one gorgeous image at a time. With a soiree that’s one part traditional and one part rustic chic, every single detail is jaw-dropping fabulous. The daytime reception at Limoneira Ranch, that ah.ma.zing DIY bouquet and that beautiful Enzoani wedding dress… I love it all. And I won’t forget that stunning, stunning vintage veil, which was worn by the bride’s aunt 30 years ago and made by both the bride's mother and grandmother. Swoon.
From the Bride and Groom, Celene and Juan....
1.What were you looking for in a wedding location and how did your location appeal to that? We were looking for a unique outdoor venue with views of mountains that gave our out of town guests a glimpse of the beauty of old California. Juan happened upon Limoneira Ranch and we immediately fell in love. The lemon trees and mountainscape were perfect for what we had in mind. We were even more pleased by the catering at the venue- it was delicious!
2.Were there any special details that meant a lot to you? I loved that I was able to wear my aunt's veil that she wore more than 30 years ago at her wedding. My grandmother made the veil and she along with my mother and aunts hand beaded the lace. My grandmother and aunts also sewed all of the table runners and made the bouquets for myself and my bridesmaids. Our cake was made by the same woman that made my parent's wedding cake some thirty years ago. And although Juan's godmother could not make it to the wedding, we decided to make her famous Mexican sandwich cookies as one of the favors. 3.Did you have any planning challenges? We got engaged in late January so planning a wedding for June was definitely a task. We only had two weeks in which we could get married before Celene started medical school rotations again so we were lucky to find such an amazing venue available on the day we did.
