Get Married at Grand Pineapple Beach Resort in Antigua

If you read my other Caribbean blog, you'll know I love this hotel. The Grand Pineapple Beach Resort is a smaller all-inclusive hotel in Antigua. What it lacks in size, it makes up for in character. It is also at a great price point, so rest assured it would appeal to Destination Wedding Guests on any budget. 

There are two locations for wedding ceremonies at this hotel that are not on the beach. The first one is a garden gazebo: 

Set in a lush landscape, it has the perfect amount of privacy for an intimate ceremony.

The next location is my favorite. It is the hilltop gazebo and folks, I must say, the views just don't get much better than this! {Keep in mind I visited and snapped these shots on a rainy day.}

Blue Waters Antigua Weddings

The Ceremony:

The ceremony will be conducted by a marriage officer and is legally recognized. Ceremonies can be performed one full working day after arriving, subject to availability, between the hours of 9.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding public holidays. A catholic wedding must take place in a church. Marrying in a Commonwealth country means however that the only record of the wedding outside of Antigua is the marriage certificate which is completed and given to the couple on their wedding day. If this document is ever lost, a copy would need to be obtained from the Registrar in Antigua.

Antigua Wedding Package - CocoBay Resort

Thinking of tying the knot with that special someone while on holiday? Sandals Resorts Unveil New Wedding Group Policy & It Rocks!

I spent the greater part of today at the JW Marriott in downtown Atlanta attentively listening to my local area Sandals and Beaches Resort reps detail all of the fun and exciting changes at their resorts. A few of the recent changes thrilled me and will greatly excite my clients. (I will be posting more in the coming weeks.) The best news I heard was the BIG change to their Group Booking Policy. In the past, at Sandals and Beaches Resorts, and most other resorts, a hefty deposit and a commitment to the exact number of rooms needed were due at time of deposit. This was always a problem for brides because it is virtually impossible to know how many guests will attend that far in advance. Sandals has the solution, and one reason I love this company is because they are very solution oriented. The new group policy applies to any Sandals Resort Destination Wedding or Beaches Resort Destination Wedding in 2008:

• A Group Code will be given to the Bride for her to distribute to all friends and family invitees.
• Rate associated with the Group Code will be valid for 60 days.
• Only a $400 deposit per room is required at time of booking.

In the past, perks and amenities were only offered to groups once they reached 20+ rooms and the perk was usually only a room upgrade. Check out the guaranteed perks offered under the new policy! Once a group reaches 10 rooms, the Bride and Groom will receive:

• Private Group Rehearsal Dinner
• 30 minute Welcome Cocktail Reception
• Free Weddingmoon Package
• Mani/Pedi for the Bride
• Massage for the Groom
