Get Married at El Dorado Maroma

The El Dorado Maroma is one of the Riviera Maya's most desired resorts. The sand here is the coolest around. It is made of fine coral and so it does not get hot like most beaches. The hotel also has this rustic over-water gazebo complex. It is primarily used for the spa's Sky Massage service but it popular with brides what want a somewhat unique ceremony location:

If you prefer a Catholic ceremony or want to walk down the aisle of a chapel, there is one on property:

After your ceremony move back to the coolness of the beach for a lovely reception!

Check out the rest of my photos from the El Dorado Maroma

The Cancun area remains a top choice for Destination Weddings because it is so easy to find cheap tickets on most major airlines! We typically find flights in the $400 and under range from every major US city.

Cheers,

Weddings at El Dorado Royale

I spent last week in Mexico, exploring 8 fantastic hotels and conducting my research from a weddings point of view.

I scoped out the best ceremony locations at each resort, including this simple, yet elegant, gazebo at El Dorado Royale Resort & Casitas:

I tasted cake - 6 or 7 flavors... it was heaven!

And towards the end of my trip, I was lucky enough to witness a sweet vow renewal ceremony at the chapel on property at El Dorado Royale:

The chapel is a great choice for brides who want a Destination Wedding but don't want to give up the dream of walking down the aisle of a church:

The Vow Renewal Ceremony is complimentary at El Dorado Resorts:

Then it was time to celebrate complete with colorful cocktails... and a shoe valet - such a great idea:

The resort had arranged a dance floor on the sand, complete with bubbles, a great DJ, and a cute couple:

Gran Caribe Real Oceanfront Wedding Chapel

The Gran Caribe Real in Cancun has all of the expected wedding ceremony locations from beautiful beach settings to expansive terraces... but as shown in the photo above, they also have a spectacular, glass-walled wedding chapel. The chapel is used for Civil, Symbolic, and Mayan Ceremonies. One of the best features if that the chapel is also available for Catholic Weddings. If you are Catholic you know how rare it is to find a destination wedding hotel with a Catholic chapel on property.

The Wedding Package is FREE if the bride & groom stay in the Master or Presidential Suite or book at least 20 ocean view rooms for their guests for a minimum of 5 nights.

A perfect match for your event? If so, we have fantastic rates for your wedding guests. Contact us: info@caribbeanjourney.com or 866-236-1924

Mexico's Xcaret Park & Wedding Chapel

Xcaret Park, located on Mexico's Riviera Maya, provides a lush and romantic backdrop for a Destination Wedding. It is a great choice for for couples looking for a more unique experience than a typical beach wedding would provide.

It is also the perfect solution should your host hotel not have your desired wedding date or time available. We will arrange transportation between the hotel and Xcaret and you and your guests will have the best of both worlds!

The Chapel at Xcaret Park is legally recognized by the Catholic Church, reason why Xcaret is one of the few places in the Mexican Caribbean to offer a ceremony with Catholic validity.

We can customize your Xcaret Wedding with a hotel package at any Cancun area hotel.

Sandals Montego Bay Intimate Little Chapel

What better location for your dream wedding... combine the best of both worlds by being able to walk down a traditional aisle, and yet dance the night away under the stars barefoot in the sand. If this sounds tempting and you are a fun loving Bride or Groom, then Sandals Montego Bay might be the perfect fit for your Destination Wedding. Sandals Montego Bay is one of only a few resorts we know of that actually has a chapel on property. I don't have any great photos of the chapel - but if you google it, you will find plenty!

Jaime Stewart McConnell (daughter of Sandals Chairman Butch Stewart and Managing Director of Royal Plantation) keeps a charming little blog all about Sandals Weddings.
